Lacy Boot Cuffs - Free Crochet Pattern

(If you don't want to make these yourself, they are available here)

Lacy Boot Cuffs

Items needed:
  • Worsted Weight Yarn (Shown in Lion Brand Yarn Pound of Love in “Antique White”)
  • Size “H” (5.00 MM) crochet hook
  • Measuring tape

Abbreviations:
  • Ch - Chain
  • DC - Double Crochet
  • SC - Single Crochet

Sizing: Measure the distance around the widest part of your calf.  Make your boot cuff ½ to 1 inch smaller than your measurement.  These have a lot of stretch!

Directions

The Cuff:
Row 1: Ch 20.  DC in 3rd ch from hook, DC across, Ch 2 and turn - Ch does not count as DC here and throughout. (18 stitches)
Row 2: Dc across, ch 2 and turn (18 stitches)
Row 3 and on: Repeat row 2 until desired length, make sure there is an even number of rows.
After you have reached to desired length, fold the cuff in half so that the first row and the last are next to each other.  Sc around both rows to join together. Ch 2 and flip inside out (so that the SC row you just did is on the inside).

The Lace:
**From now on you will be working in a round.  At the end of each row you will be joining your work, but NOT turning it.  The first DC will now count as a stitch.**
Round 1: DC 3 into the end of the first row, skip the second row, and DC 4 into the end of the third row (each 4 DC cluster is a “shell”).  DC 4 into every other row until the end, slip stitch into the first Ch 2 to join.  Ch 2.

Round 2: DC 3 into the space between shells. DC 4 into each space between shells until end of round.  Slip stitch into the first Ch 2 to join.  Ch 2.

Round 3: DC 3 into the first space between shells, SC into middle of shell in previous round (the 4 DCs). *DC 4 into next space between shells, SC in middle of shell in previous round*  Repeat from *to* until end of round.  Slip stitch into first Ch 2 to join.  Bind off and weave in ends.
