Splash Math Grade 2 Review

I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample for review purposes. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.

I don't often buy apps for my phone, I prefer to use the free ones instead.  So based on free apps we've used in the past, I wasn't really expecting much from the Splash Math app.  I quickly learned that sometimes you get what you pay for...or don't pay for as the case may be.  Purchasing full access to this app is so worth it!
You set up a profile for your student and then they have access to a bunch of different practice "worksheets".  It has over 71 different math skills for your child to practice and is designed to compliment just about any math curriculum.

The bar under each shows how close they are to mastery of that specific math skill.  Each one is filled with practice work.

I was really happy to see the section on time.  Our math curriculum has been a bit lacking in this area, so the extra help was just what we needed!
I also really liked how it would help through sections that your child is struggling with.  If they get questions wrong, it helps them see how to work through it.

As they progress their way through, they earn coins.  They can take these coins to the aquarium and use them to buy new fish, food, and even dances!

And in the aquarium itself, you can learn about the animals you put in it.

As a homeschooling mom, I've really been appreciating the extra help this app has been.  One of my favorite things about it is that every week, I get an email summarizing the progress that's the been made throughout the week.

(just for the record, he didn't really spend 45 min on my iPad lol.  That was the first week we had it and both the kids were playing it and I was looking at it too!)

This app has been a great resource for practicing math, the company has a good selection of apps for grades kindergarten through 5th grade, you can even purchase them in bundles to save money!
