Tea With the Queen - Review

I drink a lot of tea, and my kids have picked up on it!  Anytime they see me making tea, they beg for some too.  Although part of it might just be the honey ;)  For Christmas Supercat asked for a tea set so she could have tea parties, and guess what she got?

Well, when I was was given the opportunity to review Tea with the Queen I knew the kids would love it!  So, they put on their new pajamas and sat down to read it before bed.

Isn't he such a great big brother reading to his sister?  They both really enjoyed the book.  It is a story of a mouse named Charlie who's grandmother is turning 100 years old so they are traveling to have tea with the Queen to celebrate...and they come across several adventures along the way!  Charlie and his Grandparents embark on a flight to Buckingham Palace on the Royal Air Express...which happens to look like this:

They encounter dangers like wind, a flock of seagulls and a landing in Buckingham Palace pond. The kids both agreed that this was their favorite part though:

I won't give the story away, but it involves the Queen's corgis and some licorice ;)

And of course the Chunky One joined in the fun...but wasn't too happy when she wasn't allowed to turn the page!

It was a really cute book, and the kids enjoyed it.  The pages were filled with colorful artwork, which was one of my favorite parts, and it looked great on my iPad.  I've never actually had a children's book on my Kindle app, so I wasn't sure how it would work out, but it seemed to be a perfect medium for children's books! I also liked that since it referenced things like Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, we were able to go look up some of the places mentioned and learn a little bit of history along the way.  Ha!  School during Christmas break and they didn't even know it ;)
