There are several hiking areas around here, but this particular place is the closest and pretty easy for little 4 year old legs.
And seriously, these views never get old even though I've spent 30ish years here!
We spent over 2 hours hiking, although much of it was taken up by stopping to take pictures...
Or to climb on every rock available.
And a sprinkle of teenage attitude thrown in. Just kidding, I think she was showing off her rock throwing skills.
Every time we go we have to stop at the kids' favorite "cave", which really is nothing more than a rock formation that very slightly resembles a cave. But it's tradition.
Plus they have to stop and fight off the dragons that keep coming back.
There a little spot that you can hike down to that we call "The Cove" and always stop at to have a little snack.
Because these bottomless pits can't survive long without some kind of food.
And of course there's the customary "let's throw a bunch of things into the water" time.
And of course this little one slept most of the time. She woke up right at the end and had a blast looking at everything! A little hiker in the making.
I gotta say, hiking around with a 20+ pound chunk of cuteness attached to you is a lot of work. Especially uphill. #operationgetridofbabybelly success!
PS - My back still hurts ;)

Don't knock a pound. That means you burned 3500 more calories than you ate! I weigh in tomorrow and I'm hoping for a pound after a delicious retreat weekend with friends!
