Anthropologie Knockoff Headband

I saw this headband on Anthropologie’s website, and knew I could make it myself…that $32 price tag was crazy!  The thing I found kind of amusing is that it’s called the “Pearl and Purl Headband”…but it’s crocheted.  Here’s the pattern and tutorial:
Supplies:
  • Worsted weight yarn (great for using up scraps!)
  • Size “G” (4.25mm) crochet hook
  • Thin headband
  • Hot glue gun
  • Small “pearls” (I used beads)
Terms:
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
TC – triple crochet
Flower (make 2 with 5 petals and 1 with 4 petals:
1. Make a magic loop, chain 2
2. HDC, DC, TC, DC, HDC into loop.
3. Repeat step 2 4 times (3 for a small flower)
4.  Pull the loop tight to close.  There will be a small hole remaining.
5.  Slip stitch to join and bind off
6.  Using a hot glue gun (or really a slightly less messy glue might be better!) glue the pearl into the center
7.  Take your headband and put a strip of glue (about an inch long) at one end, on the inside, and attach the end of the yarn.  Wrap the yarn repeatedly around the headband until you are about an inch from the other end.  Put another strip of glue on the remaining headband and continue wrapping until the end.
8.  Glue your flowers on and…
…enjoy your headband that’s a whole lot cheaper than these:
